Jamie Dimon
Wall Street's most prominent banker Jordan Howard Vapor Untouchable Jersey , JPMorgan Chase (Swiss: JPM.SW - news) 's chief executive Jamie Dimon, is getting a 35 percent raise this year.

Dimon was given a $7 million pay hike by the bank's board of directors Thursday, boosting his compensation to $27 million.

That comprises a $1.5 million base salary, a cash bonus of $5 million and $20.5 million in stock options, according to a securities filing by the bank.

The raise came after the bank saw $24.4 billion in earnings last year, a gain of 12.5 percent.

Dimon, who carried the bank through the financial crisis more steadily than rivals but then stumbled badly with both hefty post-crisis legal costs and the massive London Whale trading loss, is hardly the best-paid banker on Wall Street.

His counterparts at Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS-PB - news) , Morgan Stanley (Xetra: 885836 - news) and Wells Fargo (Hanover: NWT.HA - news) enjoy better paychecks (Other OTC: UBGXF - news) .

As interest in natural means to improved health, wellness and fitness grows, essential oils are gaining in popularity in the United States. The healing powers, on both physiological and psychological levels, have been utilized in Europe and the rest of the world for some time. Natural, pure essential oils used in aromatherapy have a very diverse range of healing properties - as diverse as the hundreds of plants from which they are distilled. The effects range from antibiotic (without incurrence of resistance as with pharmaceutical drugs), to antiviral (the power of which modern medicine has yet to replicate), to anti-inflammatory and analgesic, with many having 'homeostatic' properties - meaning they support balance in many of the body's systems. Here's brief look at ten essential oils commonly used in the home health care kit - the list and descriptions are not meant to be exhaustive; rather, let them stimulate your interest in furthering your knowledge of these oils, their applications, and the vast potential of the many, many other essential oils available today.Tea Tree Essential Oil - Tea Tree is a plant species native to Australia. The indigenous people have used the plant for ages for its powerful healing properties. The essential oil has an extremely broad range of antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal properties that have been confirmed by modern scientific research. While not THE most powerful oil in each of these respects, it's gentle and effective action makes it the oil of choice for regular antiseptic use. Employ Tea Tree oil for small cuts and scrapes (mixed 5050 with Lavender for and extra soothing blend). Tea Tree can be diluted in water (5 drops or so per ounce) for a mouthwash, applied to acne breakouts, and has been used effectively against Candida infection (consult a natural health professional for a personal protocol for best results). Tea Tree oil is an important, inexpensive addition to your home medicine chest.Lavender Essential Oil - As important and useful as Tea Tree, Lavender oil has been named the 'medicine chest in a bottle'. Lavender's calming and healing properties act on both a physiological and psychological level. Lavender is considered to speed wound healing and reduce scarring, and is the first choice in cases of minor burns. The oil is also pleasantly calming, and can be used to reduce stress in a variety of situations - a commonly used technique is to apply Lavender oil to the soles of the feet of patients recovering from almost any ailment to bring calm and comfort during a stressful time. Lavender has been noted as 'better than benzodiazepines' for supporting sleep - use in a diffuser in your bedroom, or simply sprinkle a few drops on the bedding before retiring to enjoy this effect.Chamomile Essential Oil - Well known for its gentle sedative effects, chamomile has been used in herbalism since antiquity. Chamomile essential oil works particularly well for bringing children back down to earth when the household gets a little (or a lot!) hectic. Massaging a small amount into the feet or belly works wonders; on infants, instead use a 1% dilution of Vanilla essential oil in Hazelnut oil for the same effect. Chamomile can also be inhaled from the bottle or tissue.Peppermint Essential Oil - Peppermint serves many purposes; it is an effective digestive tonic for upset stomachs and motion sickness for children. Simply administer a drop with a small teaspoon of honey (use Spearmint for children under 3). Peppermint has been studied for its very positive support of irritable bowel syndrome, effectively balancing bacterial levels in the digestive system - it should be taken in enterically coated capsules for this use. Peppermint is an excellent mental stimulant and can clear the air in stuffy areas - it is commonly utilized inside automobiles (in diffusers or simply sprinkled on the carpets) to keep the driver alert and provide an alternative aroma to that of the congested highway. Finally, peppermint is considered one of the oils of choice when diluted in a carrier oil as a mosquito repellent when applied to the body (as opposed to oils like Citronella, which work well for the surrounding space).Eucalyptus Essential Oil - Eucalyptus is often used for respiratory conditions, clearing congestion with coughs and colds - it can be inhaled from a diffuser or from a steaming bowl of water. Eucalyptus oil can cool the body in Summer (use very diluted in water in a spray bottle - be sure to avoid the eyes when dousing yourself). Diffusing Eucalyptus oil in your home or office can effectively disinfect the air, which is particularly useful for folks with weakened immune systems. For the natural health enthusiast, it's broad range of actions should be investigated further.Geranium Essential Oil - M. Hozzel has said this regarding Geranium: "Geranium's vital, sensual presence is not subtle, but direct & unavoidable, making it one of the oils of choice for aphrodisiac qual.
